I May Live in Wildwood, but I Don't Want a Mullet!

Perhaps a reason I've been hesitant to post any blogs recently is that I always like to include pictures, and I'm in no mood to include pictures of myself as of late.

You see, I had an epiphany about a week ago to get a fun haircut. I had a clear idea of what I wanted, but I had a hard time articulating it to my stylist. I got there and noticed right off the bat the she had a FANTASTIC cut! Hip and fun and really cute. It wasn't until about halfway through my haircut that it occurred to me that she probably doesn't cut her own hair. (I should have asked her who cut hers.)

The idea was to have fun layers while keeping enough length to pull back into a stubby ponytail after Ryan's born. I was late to get the boys, so I didn't have her style it. Big mistake. After I got home and dried it I realized that I ended up with some sort of MULLET! It was a mushroom on top and then really long in the back. I had to go to church the next day so I grabbed some scissors and a mirror and started hacking at it myself. I know we're in the Sumterville branch and I'm not terribly worried about fashion and all, but I have to draw the line when it comes to mullets.

It's passable until Mom comes. She can fix it. She can do anything. I should have gone to Alison, but it was a spur of the moment thing and she's so booked. Oh well, it grows back, right? Well, not for Dad, but for the rest of us.

Natalie's Wedding...

In addition to Christmas and visits from family we celebrated with Natalie and James as they tied the knot on New Year's Eve. It was a simple, beautiful event. I told Mom I'd post a photo of the cake, so here it is.

It's Been Awhile...

Well, I have been chastised for not updated my blog in a month, and rightly so!

In my defense I've been nesting! (Nesting everything other than my blog, of course.) I was so thrilled and blessed to discover we are having a girl at the shower Michelle and Kathryn threw for Paris and I. After the initial shock (I've always said I could have a houseful of boys and be happy) we have taken the ball and run with it.

We got so many adorable and very pink things at the shower we have been having so much fun clearing out the blue and making room for the new. Ryan Sierra Boone should arrive in style thanks to all our friends and family.

I'll attach pictures soon.

Christmas Is Coming...The Mama's Getting Fat :)

Paris keeps asking me what I want for Christmas and for the first Christmas in my life I can't think of a single thing. I've already got (or will shortly get) everything I could want...

My entire family (except for Tim and Irene...wipe away a pathetic tear) flies into town this weekend then we're off to Hilton Head/Savannah for a week. Cannot wait!

On the 26th of December Paris and I will find out if we're having a little girl or another bruiser. Either way we're on our way to having an official basketball team.

Then in Feb the little bundle will arrive. Other than a Swivel Sweeper I don't know how it could get any better.

Katelyn's Shower Cake...

As requested here is a picture of my favorite cake yet. It was for Katelyn McGrath's baby shower.

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Wahhhh!

It is official.... Wyatt is not fond of Santa clause.

He approached willingly, almost excitedly. I told the photographer to snap the shot as soon as his buns hit Santa's lap regardless of whether or not the boys were smiling because I was fairly confident Wyatt would not sit on there for longer than a nano-second.

Atticus made up for Wyatt reluctant en force. He gave Santa a lengthy and detailed list of the things he wants for Christmas as well as the things Wyatt wants for Christmas. Amazingly the things he told Santa Wyatt want are things he has mentioned to me in the last few weeks he wants. Fascinating.

The Verdict is In!

Well, we have the results of the Atticus poll, and the answer is..."E, None of the Above."

Atticus, while repeatedly informing me that he was so excited it was Halloween decided to dress up as Atticus. He reluctantly agreed to at least wear a Halloween T-Shirt.

We had a great time at Linda's party, and the boys are in a insulin induced, semi-comatose state today. Who could ask for anything more?

The Runaway Pumpkin...

Well, for years our favorite Halloween book has been The Runaway Pumpkin. We checked it out once when we were visiting Grandma and fell in love! Had to buy it.

After 18 months of clingy, Momma's Boy behavior Wyatt has finally found his independence. We had so much fun at the Halloween Festival in downtown Leesburg watching him explore and meet new people without fear. Yay! Until...

Paris: Where's Wyatt?

Kasey: I thought you had him.

Paris: I thought you had him.

Kasey: (Home Alone flashback) AUUGHHHHHHHH!

Fortunately he was wearing a construction orange pumpkin costume. He was the only 2 foot pumpkin within eyeshot, but he was heading away from us fast. A near miss, and scarier than any haunted house we've ever been in!

"Round and round across the ground, makin a thumpin, bumpin sound came that Thumpety Bumpety Thumpin' Bumpin' Round and Roll-y Runaway Pumpkin. (From The Runaway Pumpkin)
